Approach

Practical consultancy that leaves a stronger organisation behind.

The model combines senior judgement, case-level detail, delivery discipline and workforce development. It is designed to solve the immediate problem while increasing internal confidence and consistency.

How support is commissioned

Single brief, call-off package, transformation sprint or managed programme. The scope is agreed around the decision, output or improvement outcome required.

Method

Five steps from pressure to embedded improvement.

01

Clarify the question

Define the problem, decision, audience and outcome. For CHC this may be the specific threshold, domain, dispute issue or escalation route. For transformation it may be the service outcome, saving, risk or capacity problem.

02

Review the evidence

Use document review, interviews, data, case sampling, pathway mapping and governance analysis to identify what is known, what is missing and what matters most.

03

Set the strategy

Agree the proportionate route: resolve, strengthen, escalate, redesign, commission, test or implement. Not every issue needs the same level of intervention.

04

Deliver visible outputs

Produce the agreed products: advice notes, matrices, case packs, challenge letters, action plans, templates, workshops, board papers, PMO controls or implementation plans.

05

Embed capability

Transfer learning through case discussion, coaching, toolkits, QA loops, leadership workshops and handover so the organisation is better equipped after the assignment.

Principles

The same principles apply whether the work is a live case or a full programme.

Strong consultancy in adult social care must recognise legal responsibilities, financial stewardship, workforce confidence, partnership complexity and the lived experience of residents and families.

Resident-centred

Support keeps the person and their outcomes in view, even when the work involves funding responsibilities, disputes or programme governance.

Practice-led

Professional judgement, evidence quality and practice confidence are treated as central drivers of improvement.

Legally literate

Care Act, NHS funding boundaries and local authority accountability are handled with clarity and proportionate challenge.

Delivery-focused

Every piece of work ends with a practical product, decision route, action plan or implementation pathway.

Constructive with partners

Challenge is firm where needed, but framed around lawful decision making, shared outcomes and sustainable partnership working.

Sustainable

Training, tools and handover are built in so that the organisation retains capability.

Ways of working

Flexible support that fits local authority rhythms.

Virtual, onsite or blendedWork can be delivered remotely, in person or through a mix of workshops, clinics and programme sessions.
Secure document workflowCase review support starts with a clear commissioning question, secure sharing route and agreed written output.
Senior leadership gripBriefings, options appraisal and escalation support help leaders take confident decisions.
Practitioner learningFeedback can be delivered live, in writing or through combined case discussion so staff get practical learning as well as direction.

Need a scoped option?

A 12-week starter programme can combine triage, priority case support, clinics and leadership development.

The scope can also start smaller: a single caseload triage or diagnostic sprint, followed by selective draw-down support.
